Black Toe Relief by PathFormer

Subungual hematoma or black toe is a painful condition resulting from the pooling of blood under the nail plate by an injury to the nail. The rotating cutter of the PathFormer drills an opening in the nail plate until a low preset electrical impedance is reached. The electrical impedance is set to trigger a rapid retraction of the cutter just prior to penetrating the nail bed. This prevents any sensation or damage to the nail bed. The procedure provides fast pain relief by releasing the blood under the nail plate, especially for runners, military personnel, and construction workers. The device is particularly suited for emergency room use.
